Servicing a Concealed Shower Valve Without Removing the Tiles
In Chunqing’s removable brass-body series, the complete brass valve body can be removed from the front after installation is complete. The decorative trim and individual internal parts can also be removed separately for service or replacement.
The box and pipes stay in the wall while the brass body is removed from the front.
This applies to the removable-body series below, not every Chunqing concealed shower product.
Request Technical DetailsWhat comes out, and what stays in the wall?
The parts that can be removed from the front are:
- The decorative trim.
- The complete brass valve body.
- Individual internal components.
The concealed installation box remains fixed inside the wall. The in-wall water pipes also remain fixed.
An individual component can therefore be repaired or replaced without necessarily replacing the complete brass body. Where complete body replacement is required, the body can be removed through the front.
When requesting a replacement, tell us which part is needed. A cartridge, a control component and a complete brass body are different items. Send the exact product reference and, where available, a photo of the part so we can check the correct replacement.
When do the wall or tiles need to be opened?
For these series, valve-body and internal-component servicing can be carried out from the front after the trim is removed.
Wall or tile opening is needed when the problem involves the in-wall water pipes. Those pipes stay behind the finished wall and are not removed with the brass body.
“Replace the complete brass body without breaking the tiles.”
The brass body is removed from the front. The concealed box and pipes stay inside the wall; pipe-related repairs may still require wall access.
It does not mean that work on concealed piping can always be completed from the front.
Before arranging a repair, identify whether the problem is in the removable valve assembly or the in-wall piping. That determines whether front access is sufficient or the wall needs to be opened.
Which Chunqing series use this arrangement?
In our current confirmed specification set, 39 listed models across six concealed shower families use this removable brass-body structure. All 39 specify:
- Cu59A cast brass body.
- 3.0 mm body wall thickness.
- Complete brass body removable and replaceable.
| Family | Listed models | Control arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| 8002D | 6 | Hot/cold rotary control, two-function |
| 8002C | 8 | Hot/cold rotary control, three-function |
| 8001B | 6 | Thermostatic push-button, two-function |
| 8001A | 8 | Thermostatic push-button, three-function |
| 8006B | 6 | Three-function systems |
| 8006A | 5 | Four-function systems |
| Total | 39 | Within this specification set |
The removable-body feature is shared across these listed models. The controls, internal parts and trim still vary between configurations.
Other products may also specify Cu59A brass. Material alone does not establish that they use the same removable-body arrangement. They are not included in this 39-model statement.
What should be checked before ordering?
Start with the full product reference, then confirm:
- Controls and functions: the control type and the required number of functions.
- Trim: the panel, handles or buttons supplied with the selected configuration.
- Drawing: the corresponding technical drawing and installation dimensions.
- Replacement parts: which individual components or complete brass body are required.
- Service access: the applicable front-removal procedure and the parts that remain installed.
Keep the drawing and supplied-parts information with the order records. These references help identify the correct parts if servicing is needed later.
Do not choose a replacement only because its panel looks similar. Ask Chunqing to check the product reference and the required component before ordering.
Request a drawing or service demonstration
Contact Chunqing for the technical drawing, configuration and service demonstration for the selected product.
Send the full product reference and explain whether the request concerns a new installation, an internal replacement part or a complete brass body. For a repair question, include photos of the installed trim and the part involved, if available.
